“I can’t think of a more fitting tribute than to see you gather in the cold to line the path to his final resting place,” President Jenkins told the Purcell crowd, which included thousands of students. “I don’t think Notre Dame ever shone any brighter than it did today,” added former football coach Lou Holtz.
A Priest Forever

He walks into the library somewhere around noon, takes the elevator to the eighth floor, then gets off and climbs the next five flights to his office. That’s exactly 100 steps.
Father Ted Month of Service
The initiative inspired Notre Dame alumni and friends all across the country to give, donate, build, as well as teach, feed and support tens of thousands of people all in his honor.
