ND Admits 1,470 Early Applicants

Six thousand and twenty students applied for consideration under the University’s Restricted Early Action program. Early applications were up 10 percent over last year.

The profile of the admitted students:

-1,035 different high schools from around the world
-49 states and the District of Columbia
-37 different nations of citizenship
-100 students are citizens of other nations or U.S. students studying outside of the United States
-46% attend public schools; 40% attend Catholic schools; and 14% attend private or charter schools
-The academic and personal leadership and service profile is the highest achieved by a Notre Dame early admission admit cohort.

Don Bishop, associate vice president of undergraduate enrollment, notes, “This year our admitted pool has surpassed all prior classes with their exceptional academic records and they possess exceptional levels of achievement in leadership and service. We are inspired by the students who will become members of the Notre Dame Class of 2021.”

Notre Dame practices a holistic admission process that evaluates students for their exceptional intellectual promise, creativity and entrepreneurial talents, leadership, and their sense of service to others.
