Notre Dame alumnus Paul Appleby '05, an operatic tenor, has earned tremendous reviews for his performance as the Chevalier de la Force in the Metropolitan Opera's revival of "Dialogues of the Carmelites."

Associated Press writer Mike Silverman says, "tenor Paul Appleby sang with honeyed tone in the scene where he bids Blanche farewell — the closest thing this opera has to a love duet." Click here to read the full review at the Wall Street Journal.

The New York Times' Anthony Tommasini notes that "the appealing young tenor" presents an "austerely powerful" performance from an "exceptional cast." Click here to read the full review at The New York Times.

Writing for the Latino Post, David Salazar raves that Appleby's "high notes floated in sublime disembodiment." Click here to read the full review at Latino Post.
