Nussbaum was a four-year Monogram winner, patrolling center field and leading the Irish in batting average during the 1973 season.

It’s only been five months since he passed the gavel to Haley Scott DeMaria (’95, swimming), but past president Dick Nussbaum (’74 & ’77, baseball) is already set to assume a new presidency.

With the Midwest League Championship Series wrapping up last week (where the South Bend Silver Hawks were unfortunately swept by Quad Cities), Nussbaum will take over for longtime league president George Spelius, who is retiring after more than a quarter-century of service.
