Everybody Digs Skylar

Skylar Diggins and Coach Muffet McGraw speak after the first-round victory in the 2012 NCAA tournamentWith her distinctive hairstyles, her megawatt smile and her All-American hoops skills, Notre Dame's Skylar Diggins is already a celebrity of the highest echelon.

With 252,016 Twitter followers as of Thursday afternoon, she's ranked sixth on Tweetcenter's "Power Rankings and Swag Index," making her the highest-ranked collegiate student-athlete (above #8 Kendall Marshall of UNC ) and highest-ranked woman (above #13 Serena Williams).

Oh, and she's ranked higher than Tim Tebow.  So don't gimme no back talk, Timmy.

Maybe it's not so surprising, then, that newly-minted Miami Dolphin and 2012 Notre Dame graduate Jonas "Meatball" Gray has been asked by his Dolphin teammates if he knows Skylar Diggins.

Naturally, Diggins's fan base doesn't stop there.  Even Notre Dame recruits specifically ask to meet her when they're touring Notre Dame's campus.  Football recruits, that is.

Memo to Coach Kelly: your secret weapon isn't a football player.
