This year, we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the University of Notre Dame, Rev. Edward Frederick Sorin, C.S.C., born Feb. 6, 1814.The indelible images of the older Father Sorin and his flowing white beard make it very easy to forget that he was only 28 years old when he established the University of Notre Dame, an energetic young priest with a bold vision for the future.
