The stories have been written and hashed out and recited endlessly: Freshman promise.  Broken receiving records.  The greatest Irish receiver in history. The arrests, suspension, rehabilitation.  Brian Kelly's trust.  A record-breaking senior season.  A first-round draft pick.  A long-awaited graduation.

But as far as Michael Floyd is concerned, he's just getting started.

Now that he's officially an employee of the Arizona Cardinals, who happily scooped up the dynamic wide receiver with the 13th pick of the NFL draft, Floyd is adjusting to a professional life.  The Minnesota native and graduate of the class of 2012 has to learn a new playbook and gel with his teammates before the start of a demanding pro season in Arizona.

Now that he's paired with NFL star receiver Larry Fitzgerald, another Minnesota product, Floyd will put his work ethic and talent on the line just as he did in a blue and gold uniform.

In USA Today, reporter Paola Bovin tells it like it is: Michael Floyd is "Ready to work."
