Jordan Pearce - Grand Rapids Griffins

Two former members of the Notre Dame hockey program hoisted the American Hockey League's Calder Cup on Tuesday night as AHL champions with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Center Riley Sheahan and goaltender Jordan Pearce `09 graced the roster of the Griffins' team that downed the Syracuse Crunch, 5-2, in game six on the way to taking the series four games to two. Grand Rapids, the top farm team of the Detroit Red Wings, picked up its first Calder Cup title, in the team's 12 seasons in the American Hockey League and its first title of any type in 17 years of existence.
