The IWLCA revealed its preseason coaches’ poll on Monday, featuring the University of Notre Dame women’s lacrosse program with the No. 8 spot in the country.
The Irish received the third-highest ranking in the Atlantic Coast Conference, coming in just behind North Carolina (No. 1) and Syracuse (No. 5). Seven ACC teams landed in the top-20, including Duke (No. 10), Virginia (No. 14), Boston College (No. 17) and Louisville (No. 18).
Notre Dame’s schedule is highlighted by four top-10 matchups, including the team’s season-opener versus No. 9 Northwestern at 1 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Loftus Sports Center. The Irish will face nine ranked opponents.
In addition to hosting the Wildcats on Sunday, Notre Dame will play Louisville and North Carolina at home. The Irish will travel to play Syracuse, Duke, Princeton (No. 13), Virginia, Boston College and Towson (No. 19) on the road.
ACC Announces Broadcast Schedule
The ACC released its 2017 spring broadcast schedule on Monday, announcing 11 Notre Dame games will be televised on ACC Network Extra.
The broadcast schedule includes all eight Notre Dame home games and three Irish road contests. Notre Dame’s matchups with Duke, Virginia and Syracuse will each be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
The conference also announced that the entire ACC Tournament from April 27-30 at Sports Backer Stadium (Richmond, Virginia) will be streamed on RSN/ACC Network Extra.
