With the 12th pick of the seventh round in the NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected former Irish tight end Ben Koyack on Saturday, marking the 78th consecutive year a former Notre Dame player has been drafted, including supplemental rounds.
Coming off a senior season in which he caught 30 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns, Koyack was named to the all-FBS Independent team and a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, given to the nation’s top tight end. He is also the sixth straight Irish starter at that position to be drafted.
