The new University of Akron athletic director is a former All-American collegiate football player.
And a former professional football player.
And a former college football broadcaster.
And a former collegiate athletic director, with experience in one of the top basketball conferences in the country.
Oh, and he’s an attorney.
Larry Williams II, who most recently worked as an executive at Equity Management Inc., will take over the athletic department Sept. 1.
The university announced the hiring Tuesday, pending approval by the school Board of Trustees.
