Matthew Gursky honored during the Notre Dame game on OctMatthew Gursky, professor of mathematics, was honored on the field during the Notre Dame football game against USC on Saturday evening (Oct. 19). He received a commemorative football from senior associate provost Chris Maziar.

Earlier this year, Gursky completed a three-year term as chair of the Department of Mathematics. A former Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellow, he has lectured around the world, including at the International Congress of Mathematicians.
