'Merchant of Venice' visits Notre Dame

 
SOUTH BEND -- In Act I, Scene I of “The Merchant of Venice,” Antonio says, “I hold the world but as the world, Gratiano: A stage, where every man must play a part.”

Except when it’s a production by Actors From the London Stage.

Then, every man — and woman — must play multiple parts.

With only five actors in the production, the cast splits a play’s roles among them, with each playing a major character and several secondary and minor ones.
