ND community collects supplies for Oklahoma

In the aftermath of the tornadoes that ravaged the town of Moore, Okla., people across the country are coming together to support the folks whose homes were devastated.

The tragedy strikes particularly close to the heart of Irish softball Monogram winner Sarah Smith (’08), an Oklahoma City native who is currently the program coordinator in Notre Dame’s Student Welfare & Development office.

Along with Sarah, and Ally Stanton from the SW&D office, as well as strength & conditioning coaches Geoff Puls and Glen Clarke, I was fortunate to be part of the group that helped load the generous donations from dozens of folks in the Michiana area. I can confidently say that the two hours we helped were some of the most fulfilling I have spent in quite some time.
