Notre Dame welcomed 11 new pianos to O'Neill Hall this past week.
11 brand new Yamaha pianos were unloaded and placed inside the newly built O'Neill Hall. The building will house 55 pianos and 4 organs in total that will be used by the school's Department of Music.
Notre Dame Professor of Piano John Blacklow believes the new instruments will be a boon for his students.
"Having a new instrument is an incomparable experience for students to have," he says. "I mean, pianos do have a sort of longevity, so having something new to break in gives them the most opportunity to be able to work on their craft."
A 10-foot Steinway concert grand piano is still on its way, and will be used in the school's recital hall.
