Palmieri Named To Team USA’s World Cup Roster

Former University of Notre Dame hockey forward Kyle Palmieri was named to Team USA’s World Cup of Hockey Roster, USA Hockey announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The 2016 World Cup of Hockey will take place from Sept. 17 - Oct. 1 in Toronto and includes the U.S., Canada, Czech Republic, Europe, Finland, North America and Sweden.

In 2015-16, Palmieri played his first season with the New Jersey Devils and racked up career-high totals of 30 goals, 27 assists and 57 points. He was one of just 28 NHL players to reach the 30-goal plateau in 2015-16 and his 57 points led New Jersey in scoring. He signed a five-year contract extension with the Devils (average annual value of $4.650 million) in the summer of 2016.
