Rowing Wraps Up Day 1 at NCAA Championship

The University of Notre Dame rowing team finished up competition on the first day of the NCAA Championship at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, New Jersey on Friday, May 26. All three Irish boats, the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four, competed in two races on the day and will move on to semifinal action on Saturday morning.

Out of the six competitions on the day, the Irish finished fourth in five races while the Varsity Four finished off the day with a third place finish in the second heat of the repechage.

The racing will continue for the Irish on Sunday morning when the Varsity Eight hits the water at 8:12 a.m. ET in the second C/D Semifinal, followed by the Second Varsity Eight at 8:36 a.m. ET in the first C/D semifinal. The Varsity Four will compete in the second C/D semifinal at 10 a.m. ET.
