Stephen M. Wrinn, director of the University Press of Kentucky, has been named director of the University of Notre Dame Press. The appointment, effective Sept. 1, was announced by Thomas G. Burish, the Charles and Jill Fischer Provost.
“Steve brings national and international visibility, extensive experience in academic and for-profit publishing, and unquenchable energy to the director position,” Burish said. “It is easy to see why he was the unanimous choice of the search committee.
“I would also like to thank the interim director of the press, Harv Humphrey, for his dedication and leadership during a challenging interim period.”
At the University of Notre Dame Press, Wrinn will be responsible for formulating and implementing the Press’ mission and strategic plan and will oversee progress towards its goals. He will chair the Press advisory board, will be responsible for hiring editors and staff and will approve all contracts between the press and authors, partners and other publishers.
