Step inside Allison Silva’s fourth-grade classroom at Taylor Leadership Academy and you’re automatically transported to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend.
Posters of Notre Dame Stadium and of the Golden Dome hang from the walls. As do flags of the “UND” logo and a pennant with the famous phrase “Play like a champion today!”
Silva and her 32-student class have embraced the culture of the Fighting Irish so much, they call themselves the “Class of 2029.” On Fridays, they wear green T-shirts with the “ND” presented proudly on their chests.
But none of the students have ever set foot on their adoptive college. That will all change in seven weeks.
