U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is set to speak at the University of Notre Dame next month, the school announced this morning.
A public conversation with Sotomayor is set for 7 p.m. September 2 in Washington Hall, Notre Dame President Rev. John Jenkins announced. Sotomayor will discuss a wide range of issues with NBC News correspondent Anne Thompson. The discussion will be moderated by U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Ann Claire Williams.
Williams and Thompson are Notre Dame alumnae and trustees.
Sotomayor has served on the Supreme Court since 2009. She is a 1976 summa cum laude graduate of Princeton University and earned her juris doctor degree from Yale Law School.
The event is sponsored by the Office of the President, Notre Dame Law School and the Institute for Latino Studies and is free and open to the public. Doors will open one hour before the event.
