NOTRE DAME, Ind. - With festivities aplenty held throughout the meet for retiring men's (and former women's) head coach Tim Welsh, the University of Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team did their part in honoring the 29-year Irish veteran with a convincing 162-124 victory over visiting Cleveland State Saturday afternoon at Rolfs Aquatic Center.

Welsh, who coached the Irish women from 1985-95, was honored throughout the meet with video tributes and was presented with a brand new bicycle near the end of the competition from the 2013-14 men's team. Swimming alums from throughout Welsh's time at Notre Dame helped honor a man that is respected throughout the swimming community for winning with class and dignity.
