With Notre Dame's widely-anticipated game in Dublin against Navy just a few weeks away, Notre Dame fan and Yahoo! Sports contributor William Porter lists the top 25 reasons why he bleeds blue and gold.

Notre Dame fans always seem struggle to explain why they're so devoted to the Fighting Irish.  Part of that intensity is the multi-faceted nature of Our Lady's University: Fighting for good, academic excellence, Catholic faith.  But that intensity is also the product of Notre Dame's legendary tradition-rich gamedays.  So even if you have to experience a gameday to truly understand Notre Dame football fandom, Porter gives it the old college try.

(Hint: number 25 starts with a certain blue-and-gold sign that players hit on their way out of the locker room...)
