Huddle and fellow Olympian Shalane Flanagan pushed the pace from the opening mile at the .US National Road Racing Championships, before the former Irish standout pulled away to win 12-kilometer race in an American and world record time of 37:50.

It was the second road race victory of the month for the Elmira, N.Y. native, who has had an impressive fall and also captured the 2013 USA Running Circuit (USARC) championship with yesterday’s win. On Nov. 2, Huddle, who now makes her home in Providence, R.I., outkicked Emily Infeld to win the New York Road Runners’ Dash to the Finish Line 5K in 15:27.
