The men’s and women’s cross country teams concluded their seasons Nov. 17 in Louisville, Ky. with the NCAA Championship Meet.

The women were led by an impressive pack featuring the trio of senior Rebecca Tracy, sophomore Gabby Gonzales, and junior Alexa Aragon, who crossed the finish line of the 6K race together in a time of 20:47 at 96th, 97th, and 98th overall, respectively. The team placed 15th out of 31 teams with 394 total points. Read More

Notre Dame turned in its most impressive offensive performance of the season on Monday, defeating Chicago State, 92-65 at Purcell Pavilion.

Six players scored in double figures, and three recorded double-doubles. Jerian Grant‘s 22 points tied a career-high and his 10 assists gave him the second double-double of his Irish tenure. Eric Atkins added 13 points and dished out 11 assists, while Jack Cooley scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Read More

You have to be a pretty talented athlete to compete for Notre Dame, so you probably wouldn’t be surprised to learn that sophomore cross country runner Megan Heeder followed up a 3200m state title as a high school junior, with a fourth place finish in the 1600m and a second place finish in the 3200m at the Michigan state finals her senior year. Something that is surprising: She also opened the meet with her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Read More
