Daily Domer Report | Mar. 12, 2013 | Women's Basketball BIG EAST Championships

Women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw cuts down the net after the Fighting Irish defeat UConn, 61-59, in the 2013 BIG EAST Championship

The Fighting Irish win their first BIG EAST Championship with a thrilling last-minute victory over UConn, 61-59.

In the final seconds of the game, with both teams tied, Skylar Diggins stole an errant UConn pass and passed to a wide-open Natalie Achonwa, who made an uncontested layup with 1.8 seconds to go for the win.

The victory avenges Notre Dame's six previous BIG EAST Championship losses to the Huskies and secures a school-record 26-game winning streak.
