The basketball players featured in Nickelodeon’s upcoming docu-series Little Ballers Indiana may only be 11 and 12 years old, but they are some of the fiercest role models you will ever meet.
The series, led by WNBA All Star Skylar Diggins, is scheduled to premiere on Friday, March 3 at 9 p.m. And, over the course of three 30-minute episodes, we'll meet six girls – Amiyah Reynolds, Mila Reynolds, Alycia Patterson, Bria Brown, Ryin Ott, and Kash Biffle – as they navigate teamwork while playing for Skylar’s Amateur Athletic Union team: the Sky Digg Ballers.
As Skylar says in the show’s opening sequence, each girl comes from different family backgrounds, with different childhood experiences. But on the court? They are a collective unit, working together toward a common goal: winning their games.
Together, the Ballers learn about team building, confidence, and strategy – not to mention the fact that gender biases about sports (you know, that boys are better than girls) are totally outdated. But it’s pretty safe to say that Amiyah, Mila, Alycia, Bria, Ryin, and Kash teach each other a lot as well; the girls learn important lessons of self-esteem and empowerment just from being each other’s teammates.
