Responding to President Obama’s call to empower America’s students and entrepreneurs to invent the future — and in conjunction with the first-ever White House Maker Faire being held today, Wednesday, June 18, the College of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame is one of many universities across the country supporting this event.

Faculty and students in the College of Engineering are excited about the renewed support shown by the White House as the Maker Faire and the Day of Making as they represent a huge opportunity for the United States to stress the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in manufacturing and to create the foundation for new products and processes that can help revitalize American manufacturing. It also reflects the Notre Dame mission, and the college’s goal, to engage in transformational research and outcomes that address the greatest good for society by improving the health, well-being, and quality of life for all.
