Constitutional Studies Minor | Feb. 4, 2013 | College of Arts and Letters
Notre Dame’s undergraduate minor in Constitutional Studies is proud to announce a lecture by Yale’s Steven Smith, who will help honor Lincoln’s birthday with a lecture titled “Lincoln’s Constitution.” The lecture will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Geddes Hall on the campus of The University of Notre Dame.
Steven Smith’s talk is based on the 2012 book The Writings of Abraham Lincoln, which he edited. Abraham Lincoln never wrote a book: his ideas are contained in speeches, letters, and occasional writings. By bringing these works together into a single anthology, Smith shows that Lincoln deserves to be counted among the great political philosophers.
The lecture is in honor of Lincoln’s Birthday, which is celebrated on February 12. This lecture is open to the public. A book signing after the event will take place, in which copies of the book The Writings of Abraham Lincoln will be available for purchase. For more information, please visit constudies.nd.edu.
