NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Even though he already has begun his professional career with the Chicago Fire, Harrison Shipp continues to collect accolades for his stellar senior season with the University of Notre Dame men's soccer team. Shipp on Wednesday was named the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
This is just the latest in a long list of accolades Shipp has received this season for his success on the field and in the classroom. The Lake Forest, Ill., native was recognized as the Capital One Academic All-America of the Year and was named the Scholar All-America Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Shipp concluded his academic career with a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average as a finance major in Notre Dame's nationally-ranked Mendoza College of Business.
