Men's Soccer Earns Eighth Straight NCAA Bid

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s soccer team has earned a bid into the NCAA Championship for the 22nd time in program history. The Irish will host Wright State in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday at Alumni Stadium. The tournament bracket was unveiled on Monday.

Notre Dame (10-7-1) is set to make its second NCAA Championship appearance in as many seasons under head coach Chad Riley. The Irish will be playing in the NCAA Championship for the 18th time in the last 19 seasons.

The Irish are 19-19-3 (.500) all-time in NCAA Championship play. Notre Dame has advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 on 10 occasions, the national quarterfinals four times (2006, 2007, 2013, 2018), and claimed the national championship during the program’s inaugural NCAA College Cup appearance in 2013.
