Were it not for the purple helmets, it would be easy to confuse the 2012 Minnesota Vikings for a Notre Dame football team.

This year, five former Fighting Irish football players will suit up for the Vikes.  Joining veterans John Sullivan (center) starting Kyle Rudolph (tight end) will be newly-added teammates Harrison Smith (safety), Robert Banton (cornerback), and John Carlson (tight end).
