NOTRE DAME, Ind. — In partnership with GoHopscotch, Inc., the University of Notre Dame athletic department announced the release of its improved mobile app Friday. The new Notre Dame Fighting Irish app replaces the WatchND app and will provide a comprehensive fan experience for users.
“We are always looking at ways to enhance our fan experience,” said Fred Villarruel, Digital Platform Manager for Fighting Irish Media. “Our goal was to make the Notre Dame Fighting Irish app a one-stop shop for everything an Irish fan would need to engage with the players and teams they love.”
The new Notre Dame Fighting Irish app will have native live stats, schedules, rosters, news and push alerts for all Notre Dame sports. It will continue to host a native feed of video content produced by Fighting Irish Media, and now will also have a permanent home for free live and on-demand Notre Dame audio (football, coach shows, podcasts, interviews, etc.). In addition, fans can find information on all Notre Dame Athletics facilities, buy Fighting Irish merchandise, and engage with an Irish HQ that will be dynamically updated with contests, promotions and other exclusive fan engagement content. It will be fans' primary destination on game days, with free live audio, play-by-play, in-game stats and in-game alerts, as well as game day info. Notre Dame is also introducing “Irish Reality,” a unique augmented reality experience exclusively for Notre Dame season ticket holders that will make game day tickets come to life with the stories of Notre Dame's history and brand.
Later enhancements this fall will include fully integrated mobile ticketing.
