ND Launches Open Online Courses

The University of Notre Dame’s first MOOCs (massive open online courses) are now open for registration. Created by Notre Dame faculty working with the Office of Digital Learning, these inaugural four MOOCs, offered through the University’s partnership with edX, draw on expertise from across the University. The courses are available to anyone with a free edX account.

The launch courses are:
 
- I “Heart” Stats, with Vice President, Associate Provost, and Professor of Sociology Dan Myers.
- Jesus in Scripture and Tradition, with Hesburgh Professor of Catholic Theology Gary Anderson and Professor of Theology John Cavadini.
- Understanding Wireless, with J. Nicholas Laneman, professor of engineering and director of the Wireless Institute; Barry Keating, Jesse H. Jones Professor of Finance; Aaron D. Striegel, associate professor and associate department chair of engineering; and Patricia L. Bellia, professor of law and Notre Dame Presidential Fellow.
- Math in Sports, with Mike Hildreth, professor of physics, and Annette Pilkington, associate professor of teaching in mathematics.
