In an exciting new development for the recently launched Notre Dame Program on Private Law, Professor Paul B. Miller is to edit a new, permanent book series established by Oxford University Press. He will be editing the series in collaboration with Professor John Oberdiek at Rutgers Law School.

The series, Oxford Private Law Theory, will publish monographs and edited collections by leading private law scholars from around the world. The series fills a significant gap in publishing outlets for private law scholarship, and does so at an opportune time, given the rapidly growing interest in private law here in the United States, and elsewhere. The series will also be a centerpiece of the Notre Dame Program on Private Law’s many collaborative partnerships with other leading institutions aimed at supporting the development of private law scholarship at Notre Dame, in the United States more broadly, and internationally.

In addition to publishing monographs and collections, the series will publish a set of volumes on a biennial basis called Oxford Studies in Private Law Theory, edited personally by Miller and Oberdiek. These volumes will publish a selection of path-breaking solicited and submitted work by senior and junior scholars in the field. A call for papers for the first volume of Oxford Studies in Private Law Theory has recently been issued, and a conference at which the papers will be presented will be held at Notre Dame’s London Global Gateway before the end of 2018.
