RV/RV Notre Dame Softball will open its season Feb. 13-14 at the 2021 Stinger Classic, hosted by Alabama State (Montgomery, Ala.). The Irish will face North Alabama (12:30 p.m. ET) and Alabama State (5:30 p.m. ET) on Saturday and Tennessee Tech (10 a.m. ET) on Sunday.

The tournament will mark the first time Notre Dame has taken the field against another team since March of 2020, as the 2019-20 season was cut short due to COVID-19. Notre Dame Softball enters 2021 as the No. 3 team in the ACC, as ranked by conference coaches in the preseason coaches poll. Additionally, graduate student infielder Katie Marino was named to the preseason All-ACC team, marking her second-consecutive season earning the distinction.

This weekend marks the first matchups in program history with both North Alabama and Alabama State. Notre Dame has faced Tennessee Tech twice before and leads TTU 2-0 in the series. The last meeting of the two teams was on Feb. 8, 2014, in a 9-1 (six innings) Irish win at the Auburn Plainsman Invitational (Auburn, Ala.).
