NOTRE DAME, Ind. — After several years of preparation, the 40th U.S. Senior Open Championship is set to commence at the Warren Golf Course on the campus of the University of Notre Dame from June 24-30.
Practice rounds take place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday followed by first-round play on Thursday. It will mark the first time the U.S. Senior Open Championship will be played on a collegiate course and the 16th overall USGA championship held on a campus layout. In addition, it will be the second USGA championship contested at the Warren Golf Course.
Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame opened for play on May 1, 2000. The public, links-style course is nestled among 250 acres of woodlands on the north edge of campus and is a Certified Audobon Cooperative Sanctuary.
Former Notre Dame football greats Jerome Bettis and Tim Brown are serving as Honorary Chairmen for the event.
