Broncos safety David Bruton couldn’t stop smiling as he recalled his days as a substitute teacher in his hometown during the 2011 lockout.
He swelled with joy when sharing stories about how his second-graders repeatedly tried to pull a fast one on him, such as telling him that a hit song by R&B artist Chris Brown was the one their regular teacher let them sing.
He wasn’t falling for that.
Bruton also taught at his hometown high school of Miamisburg, in the tiny town in Ohio with the same name. He talked with pride about being a role model on the field and in the classroom.
