Randy Waldrum, head women's soccer coach at the University of Notre Dame since 1999 and the architect of Fighting Irish national championship teams in 2004 and 2010, announced his resignation on Friday in order to pursue a professional opportunity with the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
Houston, an expansion franchise in the second-year U.S. women's professional soccer league, will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. CT) Monday to announce Waldrum's hiring. That press conference will be streamed live on the Internet at houstondynamo.com/live.
Notre Dame assistant coaches Dawn Greathouse and Corey Holton will share oversight of the Fighting Irish program's day-to-day operations on an interim basis while a national search is conducted to identify Waldrum's successor.
