The University of Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team won all 16 events to take down in-state foe Valparaiso, 219-60, in front of 347 fans Friday night at Rolfs Aquatic Center.
"We had a lot of fun tonight while at the same time knowing that we have strong competition tomorrow in Wisconsin," said head coach Brian Barnes. "We also got information. The coaching staff got to see a lot of people swim events that they normally don't get to swim. That information helps us assemble the best relays we possibly can as we move forward with the season."
The Irish (3-3) had 13 different student-athletes win the 14 individual events with junior Emma Reaney claiming two wins in the 200 fly (2:03.51) and the 100 free (52.60). Earning individual wins for the first time this season were junior Erin Foley (1,650 free), sophomore Catherine Galletti (100 back), sophomore Genevieve Bradford (100 breast), senior Christen McDonough (50 free), senior Lauren Stauder (200 breast), freshman Elizabeth House (500 free) and junior Courtney Whyte (200 IM).
Earning the other wins were junior Bridget Casey (200 free), sophomore Lindsey Streepey (1-meter dive), freshman Catherine Mulquin (200 back), senior Kelly Ryan (100 fly) and junior Allison Casareto (3-meter dive).
